List brings 5 useful features hidden in VLC
VLC is a player with support for various formats.
1. Graphic equalization of songs
VLC is best remembered as a video player, but the program is a very comprehensive media player. You can not only listen to music, but also make playlists and use audio effects. The software has a tool for sound equalization. For access, go to “Tools” and then go to “Effects and Filters.” In the window that will open you can adjust the audio quality and adjust the equalization, compression, spacing, among other settings.

2. Audio Normalization
Another possibility for improving the sound quality of the songs you listen to is normalization, a function that automatically balances the volume of the entire track. Go to “Tools” → “Preferences” → “Audio” and check the “Balance volume for” option. This setting can be enabled once and will apply to audio and video playback.

3. Repeat a portion
Most media players allow constant repetition of a file, but if for some reason you only need to repeatedly play back a portion of an audio track or video, VLC has the perfect looping feature. With the file open, go to the “View” menu and enable the “Advanced Controls” option. New buttons will appear in the program interface.
Place the audio or video where you want the loop to start and click the button with the letters A and B joined by an arrow. The first letter will turn orange, marking point A. Then select the end of the portion to be repeated and click the button again. Now both letters will be orange, indicating that loop playback is on. To turn it off, just push that same button again.

4. Watermark Application
Need to add a logo or watermark to a video? Well, you don’t have to install a video editor just for that. With VLC, you can insert an image into a video. To access the tool, follow the path “Tools” → “Effects and Filters” → “Video Effects” → “Overlay”. Then select the “Add Logo” option and choose an image saved on your computer. You can also use the controls to adjust positioning and opacity.

This procedure, however, keeps the watermark only while the program is open. To save the modified video, you need to use another feature of VLC, which allows you to record the displayed clips. In the “View” menu, enable “Advanced Controls” to view new buttons at the bottom of the software window. Push the button with a red circle to start and then to finish shooting.
5. More functions with extensions
For those who want to go beyond the player’s native functions, VLC also offers extensions. There is a huge catalog (addons.videolan.org), which includes features such as subtitle search, series skipping credits, and displaying information about the video or music being played. To have the extensions, the first step is to download the respective files from the collection site, all in the “.lua” format.
In Windows, to install an extension, you must place it in the correct folder within the system. Access the Local Disk and then “Program Files” → “VideoLAN” → “VLC” → “lua” → “extensions”. Okay, just paste the file and restart the program. The new functions will be available in the “View” menu.
